Decks

I wasn't quite sure where to put this, so sorry if I'm wrong. Please move it to the right section. Anyway here is my problem I have two bicycle blue decks. One is about 1-2 years old and it has all the cards. My newest deck I've must of dropped some cards while practicing and missed some of them. Heres my question. If I try do a 2 or 1 handed thumb fan with the old deck it does not spread evenly. With the new deck it spreads very equal. Does anyone know why this happens. Or has it every happened to you.

P.S Doesn't really matter if you know what I'm about to say but one time when I was playing poker before I'd gotten into magic, My uncle an I were just playing with poker chips not for money. I wad drinking coke and I spilled a little bit on a few cards, on the old deck. After that hand we must of played 35 hands before he won again.

as cards age the surface wares away so you loose the nice shiny cushioned surface that helps the cards slide easily also moisture fluffs them up making them uneven which causes the same effect.

That was a thing I forgot to ask I was near a heater for a while the surface did change. Thank you for your hep. Looks like I will get a new deck after all becuase I'm missing cards in my new one and my old cards don't slide to easily.

Cards fan best when they are new and as they pick up grease and dirt, so they fan less easily and unevenly. The use of fanning powder can restore some of ability to fan but again it is dependant on the overall condition of the cards.

Now - you really should get some new decks if you're still using one that's some two years old  Most of the cardies will bin their decks within weeks or even days on some occasions.

The only reason I'm using my old deck is my new deck is missing cards with in a week. I think I might get some cards soon I hope. I have a pink deck I don't use it though I like to keep in a good condition.

I've always found that the odd coloured decks like pink, green, even the standard cherry backs are different quality than the standards decks.
The cards seem much floppier and smoother or something. I find I don't pick up my DLs and such as well with these packs. Much prefer the stiffer feel of standard bikes. Although the odd coloured cards do seem easier to palm.
