Use a sticker, have them write on the sticker, then stick it to the card.
After the routine, pull the stick off, put it on your business card to give them for keeps.
have them draw a dog on it, the dog always comes back. get some great patter with that.
(or some other animal)
but you really arent very clear it what you want or are lookng for.

Never would of that! Thanks a lot that will work. I'm looking for a way for them to mark the card and having me be able to remove the mark after the trick.
A sticker works well. they can sign the sticker and keeps your card safe.
but i have many decks missing a couple of cards, I dont really worry. I usually replace it once its down by 5, or replace the cards from other decks.
and you dont have to keep buying decks. buy a pinnocle (sp) deck, and that will replace many high cards, not low ones though.
So if you have them sign the higher cards you'll be alright.

If you really get desperate, there's a little trick I always use for tricks that involve burning or signing cards. I merely cut 52 index cards to about the size of a regular deck. Then I just mark them with all the values of a regular deck of cards. They are almost the same material, so you won't be thrown off by weight or anything like that, and they are incredibly easy to replace. The only problem is it looks cheap (but I'm only in high school and low on funds ).
Alternatively, an idea I came across a while back is to use a blank-faced card. That way they get something absolutely unique whilst dispelling the idea that maybe you slid the sticker off from their card onto another one.
I always designate one pack per purchase as a 'feeder deck'. This deck is used ONLY for replacing missing cards, or to add duplicate cards to my performance deck. This feeder deck last surprisingly long as I dont feel the need to have every single spec sign a card for every trick. I think this becomes tedious..
A spec will only get the honour of signing a card if I a m doing a version of card through window.. TORN.. ambitious card with a specific ending ( like paperclipped) and the like. standard routines are just played out as normal and hyped up through my ever likebale personality.

Stickers would work. I don't know where to get blank faced cards, if you get them at a magic shop I don't know a magic shop in 45 miles. Feeder deck that would also work great. Thank you for the ideas its helped tons!
I've got a very similar approach to ID. I've got a spares deck, which I use to replace cards I use in my tricks.
I don't have many tricks at all where I make the spec sign a card, only about 2 or 3 that I can think of. I find that it's not really needed for most tricks, I only do it with a torn and restored (that's mainly because the act of them signing their card takes their attention away from something sneaky that I'm doing) and a transposition where their signed card in their hand swaps places with the one they've just watched me sign.
Having a card signed can make some effects stronger but most of the time it's not really needed.
Have a look on the internet for blank facers, most online magic shops should sell them.
I think I will do the feeder deck as someone called it where you have one deck is just replace the cards using the other cause there arn't many card tricks I have that need a signed card.
Well I just cracked open a pack of Tally Ho Vipers the other day, and there was an extra 5 of clubs in there.
So there's a bonus force and destroy for me.
Bit disappointed with quality control though. The silver print has white blobs in it as well.
