Thanks guys!

Note: I'm a girl so perhaps girl friends is a bad idea ;) hehe

What are the general opinons on Moressey's Coin Pail? I've looked for reviews but cant find em, I've found one on ebay for about $65 (just over £30 I think) that's a good price isnt it?

Cheers.

since you asked most have but we tend not to use the expensive pails a search will show that many use one coin and a bucket from costco or woolies.

£30 for a morrisie pail is a good price if you intend to get enough use out of it, if memory serves this pail has two coin dumpers incorporated into the design.

glad to see another female swelling the ranks magic has been long a male dominated pastime with women sidlined to be eye candy and do the real work box jumping, more power to you and i hope you show thoughs magic shovenists a thing or two.

Thank you, that means a lot :) I actually made a documentary about the issue of the lack of female magicians (only 6 mins long!) for my y13 media studuies coursework.

So is the Moressey one good? Just wondering if it's fairly easy to use, I'm just a bit rubbish with coin sleights and hidding coins. Also, I've left a bit too little time to learning new sleights even if I could do them!

I've ended up buying a second hand copy of Chris Capehart's Miser's Dream DVD from ebay and I found a good champagne bucket lying around the house (was being used to keep kitchen knives and wooden spoon in! It's funny, I never knew we had a champagne bucket becuase of how it was beng used!) I dropped a coin into it and flipin' eck it was noisy! so that'll do!

Does no one ever question why there's two big "coin sized" handles stuck on the bucket? Isn't it a bit obvious where the coins are coming from?
I've never seen a real bucket with handles like that before, so it's the first thing I'd notice.

for that price you culd buy yourself several coin droppers and a nice coin cascade and still have change for an ID and a coffee.

That DVD is actually not that great... you only learn two effects, definatly not worth the RRP of £18.99!! In my opinion anyway...

I know that it's kind of standard to show a palmed coin "throw" it into the bucket and let a coin drop but would it not work the same if you just pretended to pluck a coin from the air a chuck it in? I'm rubbish at the palming move!

Surely it depends on the effects themselves. Feel the quality, young Jedi, not the width...

Uh huh..

No seriously, I'm not one to say "it's rubbish!!" just becuase it has two tricks on it, it's very basic stuff that you could learn from a book.. i just expected a few extras seeing as the advert says "Coins accross, miser's dream and more!" what's the "more!"...? if there's more it's not on my copy!!

magicdiscoman, whats a downs production and vanish..sorry :D

EDIT:

this? http://www.ultimatemagic.com/library/re ... trick=1024 To be honest I've been doing something in between this and the normal coin palm, where i hold the coin to my palm with my thumb, but I always find this looks like that's what I'm doing, to the audience.

EDIT EDIT!

Wow! that is SO much easier to do! and hand size is irrelivant, thank you so much!!

Oh and is "tap a bucket" a move or are you just sayin to tap a bucket? :P
