little book

Don't get me wrong, I love my big fat book, but I've got a lot more per page from very small books like Outs, Precautions and Challenges and Avoiding Magical Hazards. Any further recomendations, not just outs oriented?

"The Secrets of Alkazar" (Kronzek), if you can find it. It has exactly 12 tricks, but what it teaches about magic is pure gold (things like proper blocking and story telling; misdirection embedded into the routine, rather than as an after thought, etc.).

Mike.

The book can be found right there. Quite cheap as well!

Also at £5.95 from www.doverbooks.co.uk or £3.68 from www.amazon.co.uk - presumably plus P&P in both cases. Bargain either way!

Yeah, I just bought it from amazon actually. That and the Outs book.

That makes 5 books on magic this month... kinda slow. (Just kidding.)

can i plug my own "Red Vs Blue" here? tis about 8 pages with a bundle (12 if i remember correctly, though it may be 9) of stranger card tricks. with nothing overly taxing in it, unless you want to take it that way.
(i could slap on some taxing freebies, hm, the possibilities)
anyway, it's a fiver!

well there was that very nice review of it a while back, which got took down due to the PDF having to be moved around and then seemingly getting lost. i'll ask mr paul if he would mind writing it again, or anyone else who fancies it

On the subject of Dover books, look out for "Easy Magic" by Karl Fulves.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Magic-Dover-Puz ... F8&s=books

Buy it through Marketplace. £1.32 (plus postage, which will be more than the book price) for 96 pages and 63 tricks!

Includes some stunning two person mental effects.
