OK I'm booked in at the strand palace hotel right opposite the pub so I'll be there early and can stay till when ever given I only have to stagger accross the road.

Could be a big turn out this time, fine drinking and less fine dining on the cards. What time are folks turning up. I can be there from 4.30 ish no problem providing the trains are on time

I'm going to be leaving for London shortly - which pub was decided upon - Cole Hole or Lyceum?

Indeed it was a good night. I must admit to feeling slightly groggy this morning (the fact that I didn't get hope until 1.30am didn't help that!)
At the end of the evening there was just Agecroft and I, and two ladies named Penny & Fabienne. They were both lovely, but ever so untrusting - every trick we performed and every move we made were examined in minute detail - cards were picked up, hands were checked, a chop cup was almost dismantled, the Elmsley count was seen spotted but still these ladies were amazed.
Then came the poor unsuspected Polish barmaid - all she was doing was trying to clear tables - she was performed upon by the two of us (fnaaar fnaaar!)
All in all a pretty good night!

It's dreadful when you have to wait so long for a bit of reassuring emotion like that....
