Now there's a curious thing!

I too have had the same problem. After increasing my inbox size due to it getting filled about every other day, the problem went away.

I've just checked, and I too have lots of 'outbox' messages, but I've received few PMs for a while.

I've just deleted a few from my Inbox - so hopefully there's room there now. Perhaps this is the problem - if a user's inbox is full, no messages can be received or sent???

Makes sense, I suppose. But maybe it's more universal, as I've not had a PM for a while... I used to get about 10 per-day!!!!

Tom

Not had a post off you for a while...

I will empty all of my mailboxes and see what happens. As you can see, I've got an email address if you need to contact me... and I would advise that any essential or urgent notes are sent this way.

So, perhaps my feelings of lonliness and dejection are unfounded!

As I understand it - the "Outbox" is a tempory folder where the messages go whilst being sent. ie if it is in the "outbox" it actually hasn't been sent yet, but i sin the queue to go.

The "Sent" box is where the messages go after it has been sent -

If the message is still in the outbox then it probably hasn't been set. This could be because teh sent folder is full up?

just my thoughts...

any PMs I send over the weekend, only ever turn up in my 'sent folder' on the Mon or Tue.. but even ones sent in the week take a while to appear... I guess Bananafish covered this with the 'outbox' thing.
Anyway, I think my messages do get sent although they only just about beat the royal mail on delivery times!!

The Outbox is used as storage until the person you are sending to actually logs into the system....once this happens the system will attempt to send the message. If succesful it will then sit in your Sent box
