They say new stock arrives in a month... and they will be "improved"... gaffed decks in the same new format on their way. ouch! (my wallet talking).

quoting E's web site:
SOLD OUT
We are making fine adjustments to the look
of the deck: more fade, more grunge, a
subtle one-way pattern - ETC. In 30 days
Ellusionist sold over 11,000 Vintage 1800 decks, to
rave reviews. These will be back better than
ever, during the first part of April.
At that time we will begin working on the
line of trick decks (Stripper, Svengali, Rising etc)
to make it easy to use 1800's as your regular everyday deck.

The new vintage decks are supposed to be slightly darker with a kind of 'burnt' look.In a few years the 1st editions could be worth a few bob.

I was born with Multiple Personality Disorder. Luckily, they are all me, they just dont always get along...

I've never really understood the point in these cards. I can see they might be useful for certain tricks but not as a regular performance deck.

The only novelty deck I've got is my pink bikes, although I very rarely ever use them.

Incidentally, I've bought a few decks of cards from Hank Lee's Magic Factory that are reproductions of a deck from the American Civil War era and very nice they are too. They have a nice rustic look to them although not as tarnished as the decks from E

I fully understand having a deck that is a reproduction of an honestly vintage deck. Such a thing could be used in a routine based on a period story or something along those lines. It makes sense.

Having a deck that looks as if it came out of a garbage can, however...I guess if you were doing a routine dressed like a beggar or a bum it could work, though.

I use them for a routine, well one of the cards, with a time travel theme which I'm planning on performing on stage soon. Tried it out with a few people and it got a good response.
I'm sure there is more I could use them for, just racking my brains.

Although they are faded, they feel like brand new cards which is great for sleights, fanning etc but no so good to convince someone they are genuinely old cards.
I manage to get round the question of the 'shiny feel' with my time travel concept.
