Postby Mikey.666 » Mar 4th, '07, 14:43

hey peeps.
I'm looking for a marker pen that can write on playing cards (bikes) but then be rubbed off. all the markers at home don't do this!

anybody? :?
thanks.

Hi Mikey i dont know of a marker that does this but you might want to consider a friction pen.

Well the idea of a marker is that it doesn't rub off so you are best off using a pencil and rubber.

What about those markers that are used for white boards? Those should wipe off fairly easily.

You'll find that the texture of most linen-finish playing cards makes removing even dry-wipe ink almost impossible.

Can't you take off marker with alcohol? I knew someone who did a while back and his cards looked fine. Hm. Maybe some experimenting will tell us :D

Thanks,

Eyeliner/eye shadow pencils work quite well for this. They produce similar text (i.e. similar weight and colour) to that written in marker pen, but can easily be rubbed from the card.

Hope this helps.

Probably not unaided. You could prepare the box with sticky-backed plastic (I'm waiting for the Blue Peter jokes) so that dry-wipe marker would come off, I think. It wouldn't be a 100% normal cardbox, but this might not matter.

Even dry-wipe marker might not come off plastic cards; it depends on the type of plastic. You might find a wet-wipe marker would be removeable.

Dry erase should work on the card box....however....the cards have more of a textured (poreous) finish that lets some ink sit lower on the surface that others....so that makes it hard to remvove from the cards.......depending on the situation you looking to use it it....I would think that if you bought a set of the bicycle vinyl stickers (the ones that have the back design on them) and put it on one of your cards, that would open a world of opportunities for you.
