Art and Illusion Magic Festival 2007 in Athens !!!

Postby Nightfall » Mar 5th, '07, 23:43

Apparently the Magic scene here in Greece isn't as bad as I thought.
I was driving home when I noticed this advertisement on the road (needless to say that I almost crashed my car) : Art and Illusion Magic Festival 2007 !!
When I got back home I did some googling and here it is :
For the third year (!) the "Glass Music Theater" in Athens organizes the Art and Illusion Magic Festival !

14 March - 1 April and 11 April - 19 April (I guess the pause in between is due to Orthodox Easter).

Among the artists are : Charlie Frye and Company, Jonathan David Bass, Ed Alonzo, Gaetan Bloom, Inaki Zabaletta, Scott & Muriel, SOS & Victoria Petrosyan

Ticket prices : €10 - 50 (depending on day and zone)

So ! Any ideas regarding the artists ? What to expect , is it worth it ?
I will definetly go at least a day. If anyone plans to visit Athens during that period we can arrange something.

Ps: Did that make me all pink and fluffy or what

Sos and Victoria appeared twice at the Blackpool Convention recently and they're very good. Not just quick change artistry but sensual dance with magic and a rather nifty dancing cane act as well. I've only seen Gaetan Bloom on TV but he was very funny and very skilled - the magic seems to happen to him rather than him doing it.

Hope you enjoy the event and don't forget to tell us all about it please!

That's very good news ! I certainly won't miss it ! And the good think is that my wife really enjoys quick-change artists and now she is also thrilled that we are going.
I will write a full report after ( I also sent them an email to ask for a photo pass , but that's a long shot).
