Book for kids 6-8 years old

Postby majs » Mar 8th, '07, 18:05

Hi,
I'm wondering if anyone knows of a good magic book/dvd for kids. I remember seeing somewhere about a book that has most of the card tricks done with key cards. It would either be memorizing the bottom card or making a thick gaff card but I can't remember the name of the book.

I also remember one magic book (compilation, not wilson's) that has color pages, the pages were pretty thick too. I just can't remember the book either.

Any ideas?
Thanks.

you can get some decent books from most book stores.

Try Karl Fulves self working card tricks, very easy to do. Im not sure about the colour pictures.. I dont own the book but have heard good things

The Fulves books might be a bit over the heads of kids of that age, very good book though.

How about a magic set, the Marvins one's look pretty good and contain everything they need to get started. They come with nice and easy to understand instructions too.

Thanks for the replies so far. I have a similar set, its the Lance Burton magic set.

I was wondering though if anyone remembers the books I was referring too. I saw it in the late 80s, early 90s I think. I should have bought it then. :(

BTW, I have the more self working card tricks book but that seem to be too advance for the kids.

I used to have a brilliant book as a kid, I think it was published by Osbourne. I've had a google but can't find any sign of it now.

Sounds like Nicholas Einhorn's book, available under several titles, highly recommended.

I have an old children's book by Peter Eldin, published by Kingfisher, which is excellent if you can get it. He also has a magic set with book which should be available on Amazon.

Thanks guys, great books. I'll check those out. :D

But I think I found it. It's the Magic for Beginners by Harry Baron. If this is the right book, its the one that opened my eyes to magic. :P
