Postby dat8962 » Mar 8th, '07, 23:41

Hi everyone

Does anyone know where I can get a few hundred sponge balls with a logo printed on the actual ball?

The only possible way I can think of doing this is screenprinting. But even then, screenprinting onto such a small, soft and pourous surface is difficult.

Although, the balls could be pressed flat I guess.

It would be possibly a very expensive job!

What is the purpose? Sometimes, there's a better way...

 you could get the logo printed on those little squeezy stress balls, just make sure they're the same size and colour as the spongeballs you're using, then just swap 'em out at the end of a routine?

that way, you might convince some that you've been somehow manipulating the squeezy balls all along...

You can buy a stamper with the logo on and just stamp them all. I think vistaprint you can get a free stamper or very cheap with a logo of your choice on but then you would have to stamp them all. I was thinking about screen printing earlier aswell because i used to be a printer but im not sure it would work and just from experiance i would also say this would be extremely expensive so i would advise against that.

How about spraying through a template in a Banksy stylee?

Have the balls on a surface, cut the message into some stiff plastic, press down on the ball and spray?

I don't know if this would actually work well; I'm just thinking out loud.

Thanks everyone for taking the time out to respond.

The reason is that I have a contract with an investment company to perform at a trade fair in a couple of weeks time. I've been working with their marketing department on developing some give aways that would tie into some of the magic routines that I will be performing. Sponges was one of them and I was seeing how feasible it would be to get printed sponges.

I don't have the time personally to sit and stamp each one by hand, if indeed that would work so I'm looking for ideas of where I could perhaps buy them ready made. Being a trade fair I thought of stress balls but to be honest, everyone has done these to death and they don't have a magic angle other than producing them from under a chop cup (which I will be performing).

I obviously want this to be a perfect show day as the aim is to attract people onto their stand as previous shows have been quiet. It's a situation for the client that they have to be there come what may.... If I achieve the objective of drawing more people onto the stand throughout the day then I will potentially get the rest of their trade shows throughout the year.

It's an excellent opportunity as you can see and I've put a lot of thought and time into working with them to date and so far they are very happy. I just need to get the people onto the stand for them!

Instead of sponges why not get some cards printed with thier logo on the back you can give away. There are many sites where you can put a logo on online then order them plus it will be a lot cheaper aswell.
