Sorry I have gone AWOL for a while.

Hey everyone, sorry I have been away for approximately a month now, I've had a lot on my plate lately. If, like most people here are, you're busy, you can skip the next paragraph as it is just about what's been going on (I remember how hard it was to get through all of the posts on here, never mind getting through all of the one's with pointless information).

Well, my reason for being off are pretty varied; Around the time I got off I was promoted to a higher math grade and have to do a years worth of mathematics in approximately 3 months (I have to admit, I'm struggling with it). I am also self-teaching myself C++ (A computer language) and trying to keep a somewhat active social life (although whatever was left of it is starting to quickly diminish. All my free time of course, as always, (although I might have an hour of it at the most) is going towards catching up on all of my magic reading (I am currently reading The Artful Mentalism of Bob Cassidy and I must say it is absolutely INCREADIBLE and I am extremely eager to meet him mid-April). Also, I am now weekly visiting a local magic shop, working on my magic, getting help from the shop owner and his assistants, helping out where I can, and also, of course, supporting the shop every visit by buying something (however I was sadly informed two weeks ago that they would be closing on an undefined date in the later future). I have also joined the SYM (Society of Young Magicians) which is a branch of the SAM (Society of American Magicians) (www.magicsam.com and www.magicsym.com) and am attending the monthly meetings. I also am proud to say that I am now the uncle of a beautiful young niece named Milla who was born on the 21st of February, 2007. That is pretty much all of it and a big "Thank you." to all who read this.

Anyway, I hope that everyone here has had a good month and that I did not miss out on much while I was gone. I also apologize if any of you were wondering where I have been and have had no way of finding out.

Let me also extend this thread to say "Welcome." to all the new faces here on TalkMagic. I hope all of you who have been on here for a while now are having a good time on here and are finding it a very useful place to converse about everything magic related (aside from exposure of course;)). For everyone who has just dropped into TalkMagic, let me say that this is, and always will be, the best magic community on the whole world-wide-web and that you will not be disappointed that you have joined.

Another apology:

When you are away from a forum for approximately a month you forget there is a Dove's Head section .

Sorry and feel free to move if you feel it is needed.

Welcome back David, sounds like you have been busy. Sorry to hear about your local magic shop, I suffered the same fate a few years ago, buying stuff online is OK but there is no substitute for a real brick and mortar shop. Congratulations on becoming an uncle too.
