Noob question here ... what is CUPS?

Postby majs » Mar 15th, '07, 17:09

Hi,
Just been reading about and I probably missed or not found it yet, but people keep saying cups sufferer, and cups this and that. Not sure if it has been asked ... what is cups? :?: Thanks.

A very serious condition indeed: Compulsive Unnecessary Purchasing Syndrome.

COMPULSIVE UNCONTROLLABLE PURCHASE SYNDROME. In other words it means you keep buying magic when you dont need to. It's an addiction just like smoking, drinking or drugs but our addiction is magic. There is a long running thread on it here aswell somewhere.

There's a very good preventative measure to CUPS which I find very effective.

On pay day, head into town and spend all your money on shoes, boots, tops, bags and an expensive dinner. Then you'll have nothing left to spend on magic, works a treat for me. :D

You're kinda putting one fire out and starting another one there with that theory Lady of Mystery.

I beat CUPs by telling myself that if I buy something I have to sit in at the weekend and not go out on the razzle. Works a charm for me.

Well actually sometimes it doesn't, I can see Dai Vernon's books coming my direction sometime soon.

But sure so what, if you enjoy these things why not treat yourself, its only money after all, you can't take it with ya.

I think your fine as long as you spend your money on proper material as opposed to one trick ponies and flashy gimmicks.

Can anybody please help me? I'm having terrible problems controlling my streetmagic- I can't walk down a street without turning into a pub.

The other diners looked at me funny when I did that. I think it was the Jimmy Choos and the crop top...

Two Weeks ago I spent £80 then last week £75 and this week £45.

I am master of misdirection, look over there.

We are not falling out young Welshy, we are debating, I think farlsy is an idiot he thinks I am one. We are just talking about who is the bigger idiot.

Other than splashing out on a brace of strippers (fnarr fnarr) I've bought nothing serious for months. I'm still poring over the books I bought last year.
