Help with Descent

Postby Mr Toucan » Mar 20th, '07, 13:48

Hi,

Having just bought Descent by Kevin Parker, I am puzzled by one thing. In the signed coin through table part he says that it is OK to hand the coin to the spec for inspection. In light of what you have done to it I find it difficult to undestand how it wouldn't be noticed.

Any help?

Thanks,

James

I concur with ID, you shouldn't have any trouble handing out the coin, there's nothing to hide. Run through the routine a few times and let us know what particular bit is a problem.

Hi Guys,

I've rewatched the DVD and the Signed coin is definitely dirty. Any ideas?

Bronz - just noticed you're from Ashford - did you go to the Downtown club?

I see what you are saying... i think there are a few ways you could solve this.

You could just not gimmick the coin until after they sign it. Hand it out, have them sign, then just quickly do the thing. Another way is just use a small amount of the stuff. Just place the coin lightly in their hand with the stuff down... I haven't tried this but I would assume they would just sign the one side without looking at the other side (especially if you give them a marker to hold in their other hand).

I think the best way would be to just put the stuff on after they sign it and hand it back to you.

Wow... that was difficult to explain without giving it away... let me know if I need to edit if I exposed anything. lol.

Hope this helped,

Thanks Ace - that's a good idea and certainly solves the problem whilst they sign it but he seems to suggest that it can be handed out after the effect and I just can't see how.

Any more ideas?

James

There is no real way it can be handed out after the effect unless you can 'clean' the coin first - and it's not the easiest to clean. I think I'll personally be sticking with the unsigned version for now and hand back their original coin for examination afterwards.

Hi Toucan, yeah I do go to the Downtown club, I've been going regularly for about a year, would I know you?

We've got Greg Wilson next month, I can't wait!
