Talkmagic has been offline since yesterday evening.

Where'd it go, then?

... and our own Lady of Mischief started a slanging war on Magicbunny!

Ooooh I love it when those guys get riled. You think the slanging on TM is playground stuff sometimes, you go have a look at MB ;)

Let's remember how they like to follow folks from forum to forum and give them an on-going hard time as well...

I've never seen the kind of immaturity here or anywhere other than maybe the cafe, than what's become "the norm" at the Bunny.

I started the TM thread on MB. Apart from the "sycophant" (sp?) post, I thought it was good banter. They DID leave a thread about a rival forum there after all.

PS, Ladies, men are still the better drivers.

To be fair, you threw your toys out of the pram good and proper, then went back a couple of months later to sell them a really expensive book.

I still can't get onto talkmagic at work :( and that's where I do most of my TM'ing.
Two days at work without TM....I've had to fill my time by doing some tasks attributed to my job description...I'm not happy.
Does anyone know why this is? not the job bit I know that but the TM not back in service on my work computer but not at home. It's not right

It was only meant to be a little bit of friendly banter, I didn't mean to start World War 3

OK, here's a breakdown of what happened from the 'horses mouth'...

The DNS servers lost their way for www.talkmagic.co.uk.

What this means is, the name didn't point to the website temporarily.

Think of it like all of a sudden the Post Office having your postcode removed from their system... all the letters sent to you that day wouldn't get there, because nobody knows your address.

The DNS settings were then restored, however... different IPs and service providers use their own DNS servers to match web domains to names, and some of these servers catch up quicker than others...

Think of it like, the Post Office get the details of your postcode again, and have to distribute it around ALL of the sorting offices in the country, so they all know the address...

This takes time, and that's why some people got on quicker than others. It should all be hunkey-dorey now.

It's good to be back and quite a relief. I would have had to find something to do during my days at work.
