What Do You Think?

Postby mistress of magic » Aug 31st, '03, 20:53

I was wondering what you thought of those little magic sets you often get in toy shops that will turn you into a "master magician in no time" You know, the ones with that usually come with a stripper deck, sponge ball and a couple of small rings. Personally, there O.K to get kids started with but usually don't come with very good tricks, and the instructions can be a bit dodgy. Although saying that, relatives tend to think that you'll like them and get you them for christmas. Let me know.

The little sets are good to collect i think, keep them in mint condition and make a fortune with them when your past your sell-by date

Never underestimate the power of the cheap and tacky plastic magic sets! Whilst the standards may not be all that good, the ideas are sometimes worth remembering and you might be able to make your own more professional versions. My main gripe is that such sets always seem to include that set of numbered cards where you get the spec to select the ones with their age on and then 'magically' decipher their age by adding up the top right hand numbers. Apart from that, they always seem to use the same phrases, 'Fool your friends, amaze you family, trick your teachers', Gets right on my wick!
