Introduction to Coin Magic

Postby TheGentleman » Mar 27th, '07, 05:13

I've been into card magic for a while, and I've performed quite a few routines on the streets and such, however I'd really like to get into coin magic. I enjoy magic that requires skills, and don't like gimmicks very much, so I thought coin magic would be ideal. It's also very practical, as coins are everywhere, so I can perform anytime. I've seen a few books and DVD's, but I'd really like to start from scratch with this one, learning sleights and moves I can put together to create my own routines, ect. Any DVD, CD, or book that would introduce me to coin magic would be perfect. I'm a very visual learner, so a DVD might be best, or a book with many pictures.

Any help would be appreciated, and I can't wait to start practicing a whole new genre of magic.

I've been getting in coin magic recently as well.

I'd recommend anything by David Roth.

Here's a really good website as well.

On Penguin Magic, Jay Noblezada has a new DVD called 'In the beginning...There Were Coins'. Big recommend from me as well.

I also found this website this morning:

http://www.coinmanipulation.com/

interesting stuff.

Hope that helps

Aye.

You can pick it up for less than $10/about a fiver...

And it's just an encyclopaedia. When I first received it, I was surprised at the size of the book. Okay, so it's no Britannica, but it's crammed of excellent explanations and diagrams.

If you're on a buget, for God's sake buy this.

It teaches you a hell of a lot of sleights, and then gives you the routines to put them into. For a TINY sum of money you get a heck of a product.

It's a steal. I'd happily pay an awful lot more for the book than it's RRP.
