Unfortunately the answer is the one that makes the audience think you only turned over one card. Tada!

Just do the one you're most comfortable with.
And please use the search function.

well if youve mastered them all what does it matter which one you use since they will all look like your turning a single card

Computer games don't affect kids; I mean if Pac-Man affected us as kids, we'd all be running around in darkened rooms, munching magic pills and listening to repetitive electronic music. - Kristian Wilson, Nintendo, Inc, 1989..

Each method has a virtue, and respectively, each application fits better in a certain situation.

The best way is to analyse your own regular card handling style, and adapt the DL to suit. I rarely see a DL performed the same way by working magicians... each has their own unique method, based on their own card handling 'character'

use the one your most comfortable with, and only that one. if you start turning cards over differently each time you perform a different effect people will raise an eyebrow.

I'd hate to think this guy just registered to post this question. Please drop by Introductions and make a brief introduction of yourself.

Here are my 3 favourite double lifts. Play with each of them and pick the one that suits you best. Or you can use more than one of them of course.

The one I use the most is the Vernon DL. Very natural indeed. You can get this from the Dai Vernon Book of Magic.

Second is the Paul Le Paul DL which can be found in his book. Actually there are two double lifts there both of which are excellent. The one I am referring to is the one which uses no get ready and relies on the sense of touch.

Thirdly I like the Leipzig DL which is described in the Ganson book on Leipzig. There is an amusing noise which goes with it that pleases me.

There's another variation in David Acer's 'Random Acts of Magic' book which is good and very deceptive. I have used it quite a few times and it's clean and easy.

The most convincing ones are the ones you have mastered but to make it most convincing you must use the same handling when turning over 1 card.

I just use the standard pinky break :D. I've also started to use another one where I just pick the DL from the side but I don't know what the name of it is.
