where are my socks

Postby Lady of Mystery » Apr 10th, '07, 16:44

Yesterday I put 8 pairs of socks in the machine. Only 6 pairs came out, one odd one and one pair totally vanished! Why does this happen!!!! Where are my socks????? :?

Apologys in advance here. I reckon someone has gone in the washing machine and took them out so they can replicate the american pie scene  I say no more.

I lose socks like no ones business.. last time i bought socks I bought 12 pairs and within a week I was again searching for a lone bloody sock!!

On this note.. do you think you put the washing machine on 100 degrees by mistake and your socks are still in the machine but shrank to an invisble degree..??

We all know women can't use any electric item properly except an Iron

That's very true ID, perhaps we're better off just not touching anything electric. I'll leave the hoovering, washing, cooking etc all up to Dave from now on. I like that idea.

I'll have to have a word with Mrs ID too and let her know that we're incapable and to leave all those jobs to you, much more competant men. :P

it's funny cos its true...

multi-tasking is rubbish...i first lived with a girlfriend when i had just turned 17, a load of fuss about nothing the housework lark...its a doddle...

just do one job at a time...its actually quicker, and you do a better job of it...and yes, men do the housework better than women, cos we dont have to have a break to read HEAT magazine or watch Trisha/Jeremey Kyle or indeed, drink from a bag of maltesers...

we only let them do it to make them feel valued...

Mrs Calthrop is often heard to complain that her socks go missing. For my own harmless amusment I've started to take advantage of her exasperation by selecting only one from each pair of her socks that I find in the washing box when I come to load the washing machine (yes, I do it but I'm staying well away from abraxus' post). The expression of incredulity when she empties the tumble-dryer is priceless. I knew it couldn't last though and I think she's on to me now. My plectrums have started to disappear even more frequently than before and none of my CDs are in matching cases any more.

I'm considering retaliating by continually putting full toilet rolls back in the cupboard and replacing them on the holders with empty cardboard tubes, but this has the potential to backfire. Also, it may constitute a dangerous escalation.

What you call heroism is just an expression of this fact; there is never a scarcity of idiots
