i remember in 1979 or so,i went to the Dagenham Town Show, inbetween the sugar rushes of candyfloss, seeing a man getting his tendons slashed open by a remote control helicopter display, a joust tournament and of course, a 99 with a flake...

i met rolf harris, and the mighty Brian Cant...if only i could meet Derek Griffiths though..he's a genius...

used to love his guitar playing and songs too...didnt he used to do some nature program thing on bbc2 as well? ah...70s summers as a child...

...for some reason, the smell of cut grass always reminds me of 70s summers and fuzzy-tuned radios...

How about Jeremy Irons on Playschool. That's always weird seeing those clips.

Kids tv aint what it used to be. Bring back Mysterious Cities of Gold I say!

Dont worry Abraxus Dangermouse still holds up as a very funny cartoon.

Crikey! Crumbs!

Count Duckula too

Also voiced by David Jason if I remember.

....you have me in a reminiese type mood now and found this collection of 80's cartoon intros. The mention of Mandrake in the Defenders of the Earth intro did make me giggle. Also the manly voices and singing...very macho
