Hahahaha

Actually you could do, "Famous people who have been hung" Fred west etc etc.

I dont have a problem with him doing it really its no diffrent from buried alive and the likes on the whole.

I am master of misdirection, look over there.

We are not falling out young Welshy, we are debating, I think farlsy is an idiot he thinks I am one. We are just talking about who is the bigger idiot.

Thanks for the feedback. If I do decide not to present it this way, do you guys have any ideas on how I might perform it? I want to make a really great video, something that will spread like the Plague. There has to be someway to perform it that has got everybody loving it. I don't want it to be simple patter where I say "So and so tried to hang an outlaw, he tied the rope like this, but when he pulled it (yank). The outlaw was unharmed". I hate to do stuff like that, I want something fresh and new and I am tapped out of ideas.

I think this is a really bad idea, its nothing like buried alive and the likes. That sort of thing is done more as a challange, which could be the way to go with this.
I don't think anyone will appreciate this. People who don't believe it will think its stupid, people who believe it and want you to do it will be pi**ed off and people who believe it and don't want you to do it will feel stupid and angry.

Monker, you are on the right track on the presentation, but I think its the trick here that does not fullfill the promise of presentation. They should be equally strong.

Now you are building up a tension for a long time and building the trick, and in the end the trick itself is really old gag and nothing shocking to anybody. People would probably just go "Was THAT it? What a waste of time".

I advice you to look Derren Browns' "Something Wicked this Way Comes", and focus on the bit where he walks on glass etc, and the build up. There is a real sense of danger and excitement, and the trick itself is good enough for the build-up.

I also think that playing with suicide is very bad idea for entertainment in general. Lots of people dont find anything cool about it and many have their own sad stories about relatives and friends who have commited suicide, so it may actually offend alot of people as well when you play with a subject like that.

If you want to annoy people or provoke a reaction then it seems like you've touched on the perfect way to do it... I guess it depends on what you're actually trying to achieve doesn't it!?

Yes. Two published methods that I know of and three methods that I can think of right off the top of my head.

I want to make a video that makes people say "Wow! This guy is amazing!" Apparently my current idea for a video won't do that, any ideas?

Well if you want that I don't think a simple rope through neck would be a great idea. There's already methods out there for doing this. And especially don't make 7 minutes of video for one very quick effect at the end. Unless you are an amazing actor I would stick well clear of it

Sorry for sounding negative.. But i think that this is a bad idea from the start. Anything to do with suicide is just bad taste. If you want to present a trick like this 'As an unknown' you should find a comedy angle. So the veiwer from the first moment know that its a joke. 'Sick Magic' and those that perform it for quick fame is not what magic is about.

I'm trying not to be negative, but in this day and age you cant be to careful about people coping you.
I can understand you wanting to veiwer to think wow this guy is great, but do something thats magical!

Everyone wants to be Blaine - Angel - Brown and shock people, be different.

But everyone arent Blaine Angel or Brown. So if you have to ask ideas to do something different I suggest you think again, are you original at all.

Not just will, remember skill.
