Sorry if this is a bit of a naff topic... "two thread posts in one day, are you bored?!" - yes!
But I'm idly curious to see if anyone else has a similar experience...
As a hobby, I often use magic to relax. Yes, it can be hard work as it's something you need to practice, but certainly when I started it was almost a night time routine for me: tidy up or do a bit of work, have a shower, then open up a book or crack into an effect or DVD. I'm a bit of a night owl so I'd often be practicing magic into the wee hours, just before going to bed.
I've now realised that I actually find magic explanation videos comforting, to the point that if I need to just relax, I will do a bit of tidying or just doze on my bed and put a DVD on just to listen to! There are some people who have very gentle voices - Al Schnieder, Ammar, but really as long as it isn't interspersed with nu metal it could be anyone... even Sankey! Whoever the magician, there is a common recognisable element in someone explaining something carefully and precisely. It's the explanations specifically - I don't find the nutter specs at L&L comforting at all!
Does anyone else recognise this phenomenon... the need to make yourself a cup of tea, whack on some Osterlind and chill out?!
