Chocoholic...ism

Postby Beardy » Apr 16th, '07, 13:30

Well guys...my name is chris and im a chocoholic

haha

but seriously guys - I'm getting a tad concerned when it comes to me and chocolate. It probably sounds stupid but I'm being serious...I have a problem...

Let me explain the extent of my problem...

my family actually hide the chocolate from me now because of my choco habits. I went through a box of 36 mars bars in a week...and I don't even like mars bars! It was just because it was the only chocolate we had in the house!

A box of 40 fudges in a week and a half...once again i didn't like this type. On a saturday I'm at work, so go and buy 4 snickers and a double twix...

and this is just the basics.

I dunno guys - what do I do to "battle" this "problem"?

Love

Chris

I would suggest stop eating chocolate.

I used to be a jaffa cake-oholic and my lowest point was eating a 6 pack in an evening. I avoid jaffa cakes these days and stub cigarettes out on my chest whenever I get the urge

try this and i,m saying for threcord now that it will sound silly but put an elastic band around your wrist and everytime you eat a bar of chocolate give yourself a big twang per bar.
its a pavlos dog way of training you to resist the urge for chocolate which is a drug designed to give you pleasure, it takes time but slowly weenes you off the drug of choice.

ps don't go cold turkey with such a heavy drug.

Can I confess too?

My name is Becky and I'm also a chocoholic

Chocolate doesn't last 5 minutes in my house. I was given nice box of Belgian chocolates for Easter and they lasted on evening.

My solution, never have any chocolate where I can get at it :D

I am a recovering crispoholic.

I could eat a packet or two on my way to work, one mid morning, one with lunch and a couple in the evening.

Thenthe doctor discovered that my cholesteral was 9.6 and my blood pressure was 180/110. So a diet was imposed by Mrs Wizz and I have only eaten the odd packet in the past 15 months. But the craving, oh that never goes away.

A friend of mine had a problem with chocolate. In the the end he was eating three large dairy milk bars a day instead of breakfast, lunch and dinner. When he told me he was addicted to chocolate, I laughed, then he broke down into tears. I hope your problem isn't like his Chris, if it is you have my sincere sympathy.

it isn't as bad as that.

though at work i do have chocolate for lunch. I'm trying that "band treatment" at the moment - though I don't think it will do anything except give me a sore wrist :(

I'll give it a go though. Otherwise, the only thing I can think of is more like "rather than have 10, have 9" kinda thing - though easier said than done...

Well, I'm glad of that :D

All the chocolate Easter eggs (the most delicious form of chocolate IMHO) are reduced to £1.24 in Tescos. So I've been over-indulging quite a lot myself.

the band is doubbly efective because theres the pain associated with the nice chocolity chocolate and the fact that your volunterily inflicting it on yourself, if the cravings get bad step it up to two twangs.
percivere with it and you will see results in about a week, either that or your wrists will be that sore you won't be able to hold your cup of choco-horlics.

Im sorry but all those solutions are really silly and dont work..

The only way to stop eating so much chocolate is to eat the same amount.. of something else!!

this worked for me.. when I use to eat chocolate by the boxfull.. I started to eat about 5 bacon and egg sandwiches a day! Now I dont eat much chocolate.. now I eat bacon and egg sandwiches and Im no longer a chocoholic!! :D

All that sounded so much better in my head!!
