I had a question about the name of this cut/flourish.

I saw that this guy came here in asking about the Smokin' Aces trick with the spinning ace and was met with some strong resistance obviously because he was basically asking how the trick was performed.

However, that is not what i am really looking for, the "trick" that i am referring to also appears in the movie is just Israel cutting the cards multiple times fanning them out between his hands.

I am a professional poker player with a mild interest in card manipulation (meaning cuts and flourishes NOT like bottom dealing, lifts, pulls etc...) the maneuver that i am referring to was shown in a cingular commercial a while ago. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-LWVshS0oEM he riffles the cards, does a butterfly cut and then twists the phone between his hands and then does the cut i am referring to, followed by a fan.

what is this cut/flourish called?

any tips on executing it?

Again i don't have any interests about learning how illusions are done this is just a flourish that i would like to be able to do for my own grins and jollies.

thanks for any input.

The move is Ashford Kneital's "Tornado Cut". It can be found on his Tornado DVD which is found on www.pasteboardsyndicate.com. However, I do believe they don't sell it anymore.

Your best option is to wait a few more days until the Dan and Dave "Trilogy" set come out since they will briefly run through the Tornado Cut.

Hi! You can learn the tornado cut on Rich Ferguson's How to do Shuffles and Cuts DVD from his poker range of DVDs. You can buy the whole set of his poker DVDs here http://www.chiptricksonline.com/

It's actually incredibly cheap and the teach alot of great poker tricks!

The Tornado cut is a pretty display of card magic skill.
I like it a whole lot and think it is worth learning.

I believe that the "Tornado Cut" that is taught on Rich Ferguson's DVD is not the same as Ashford Kneital's since Ashford's cut is only found on his DVD and on the soon-to-arrive Trilogy set by Dan and Dave.

There's also a link at the side of the video saying you can learn the flourishes there. I don't want to say it but : DUH!
