Hello. Wishing to find a relaible proof reader

Postby cromarty » Apr 27th, '07, 21:12

Hello there.

My name is Cromarty. I am currently writing a document about my designs and theories on what many of you may call Mentalism. I am looking for someone sufficiently reliable and trustworthy to read over what I have written so far in confidence. I am looking for opinions on my writing style and pacing. I will not be sharing my techiniqes at this point with you. I do not belong to the traditional magic community and much of what I do would not be deemed "magic" in your tradition sense.

Please could you advise me of suitable persons and their backgrounds.

Regards,
Cromarty

And I forgot to mention. It would not require a huge amount of work. Just reading over a few chapters. No more than 15 to 20 pages. In return I will provide you with a copy of the finished manuscript when completed.

Thanks,
Cromarty

well I'm a magician and my girlfriends a proof reader, i think between us we'd have it covered. although a cope of the namuscript probably isn't enough payment to warrent the work. I'm sure someone else will do it for you, but you might want to check to see if anyone has any kind of qualifications or something before handing it to some random 13 year old net troll to "proof" read.
(that probably came over a bit worse than i meant to it, "just make sure you get the right person to read it" was what i was going for"

Custom R&S decks made to specification - PM me for details

Very good advice! although writers have a better idea than most when reading other people's work, someone who is actually an experienced and professional proof reader is by far the best bet.

How I sometimes wish I was a spotty 13 year old again though

We have 5 copywriters and 2 proofreaders on our team here. The two proofreaders are good friends, one of whom has being doing so for 44 years! The other is a specialist in technical literature ( and is vastly knowledgeable in 'proper' presentations of measurements, numbers etc.)

I'd be happy to let them have a shufty.
