Struggling with an effect? Any tips (without giving too much away!) you'd like to share?

Something I haven't done in a long while is my 'card revealed inside a sealed bottle which the spectator purchases from behind the bar' reveal.

It's noted in full-detail on the forum somewhere (may be in the Restricted Area), but it's a surefire way to get people talking.

As a standard reveal, I must say the 'card behind glass' in a picture frame is a great eye-opener, especially in a pub, or in someones own home. Takes 30 seconds of prep work.

And yes, I have a method to do it with a signed card also.

Its where you phone up the card wizard and he then tells the spectator what card they picked, note no forces used

If booked to work in a particular restaurant/pub. Nick their laminated menu, and get a few duplicates done.

You can either laminate a duplicate card in the menu, or change the description of a certain meal on the menu to match their card. Force required of course!

Someone mentioned before Card on Ceiling. This is one of my favourites too! VERY strong reactions. Avoid Card IN Ceiling. Its a bit pants IMHO!

I like the menu idea, I've never thought of that before

I havr dtuck a card from a svengali deck on the back of menu before. Oh look your card has gone... then there it on the back of the menu. Oh go on I am feeling nice you can have that.

I am master of misdirection, look over there.

We are not falling out young Welshy, we are debating, I think farlsy is an idiot he thinks I am one. We are just talking about who is the bigger idiot.

From a spectators point of view, my favourites have been signed card on the ceiling, card from the shoe, and card from the mouth. I only know the technique for card on the ceiling (not that I have tried it yet)

I personally like (in my limited experience) to make the card jump from the deck into my left hand. Very visual, the spec doesn't notice it doesn't come from the middle of the pack if you keep eye contact with them, and seems to get a good strong reaction. I am very inexperienced so have barely done this, but with a bit of patter, something about mexican jumping cards or anything like that, I think I might well use it for a while.

These will probably work best with signed cards rather than just force cards:

Rolled up inside a box of cigarettes or folded in a match book/box.

Have them cup their hands in front of you and have it "fall out of the sky" folded up into their hands.

Inside the marker of the pen they signed it with.

For force cards:

Have it scanned into your computer and email it to your spectator for
them to check when they get home.

Have an A4 replica of the card stuck to the ceiling.

Have an A4 replica inside a picture frame near where you are performing with a personalised message and signature from you to your spectator. With good planning you can even have their name signed onto it.

Some great ideas, I personally love Stigmata, specs really get worried thinking its some kind of voodoo.

If you're forcing the card folding it up and freezing in an ice cube is quite a nice one.

If you wanted to let the spectator shuffle the deck which you seem to want to do.. you could out a brethers crimp in the force card, then when the spec shuffles the deck, you can just cut the deck at the exact location.. ( card on bottom ), show top card not their card, bring bottom card to top, d/l to show the top card is still not their card and erdnase colour change to reveal the card.

better would be to use the brethers crimp as a key card and tell them you can cut to the exact card blinfolded or however you want to do it..

Not particularly challenging but nonetheless pleasing to the eye of the spectator.

I would reveal cards by showing them to have travelled to impossible locations.. pocket, wallet, back in the box, bruised on my arm..

Sankey's Blaze of glory is a cracking reveal where a drawing of predicted card (which turns out correct) is screwed up, lit, thrown in the air and the predicted, previously chosen card falls down and lands on the table. Card is signed of course.
Nice effect
