just out of interest, The Works is selling a tarot starter set for £5. Including cards and a little book.

I love these little remaindered shops, like The Works, for this kind of esoteric stuff - Tarot, Astrology, Rune-stones, Crystal healing...how come they all seem to have a really nice 'New Age' section - is it only because it doesn't sell very well in mainstream stores?

The Works is brilliant for all this kind of stuff, I've bought a really nice deck of ESP cards and a dowsing set in there before. Still not really found a use for the dowsing set yet, but it was only £3 so can't complain too much

Well actually £5.99 to be precise, plus £2.95 p&p so that makes it £8.94 in all. :) All Black Artefacts prices include P&P.

The reason that I wrote my own system is that I never found a tarot book that was any good for commercial readings and was an easy system to learn.

The Black Artefacts Tarot Course comes with a set of genuine Marseilles or Spanish Tarot cards, these are normally £15.00 on their own in 'new age' shops.

Of course one further point is that like ALL Black Artefacts effects and props they come with a 90-day money back guarantee. If for any reason whatsoever you do not wish to keep the item you can just send it back and get a full refund on the purchase price.

Try taking an item back to The Works after 3 months use and asking for your money back!

Well you pays your money and you makes your choice. I can't speak for the quality of the set from The Works but I can say that The Black Artefacts tarot course and cards are top quality.

Thanks for the mention Abraxus.

While I'm here, I've just restocked with major arcana tarot force decks, I'll bet you can't get those at The Works... :)

As ever Keith, your products and service look fantastic. I do not know any other supplier that gives you a 90 day return!

I am sorely tempted. I just ordered the Tarot Reader's Notebook from the MevProShop, so I will give that a whirl.

If you guys want some other tips, check out Alan Strydom's Palmistry Quickies and Simple ESP Reading System, and he recomends Palmistry Cards, which I ordered from Amazon. They are really, really nice!

Does the site sell actual card tricks or just the astrology/tarot/crystal/rune kind of stuff?

Rider Waite cards always seem to be about £15 a set. Shame they aren't as cheap as Bikes as there are some tarot effects I want to do which involve chopping up cards and doing other weird and wonderful things to them.
Are the ones from The Works decent?

At the moment there are two Tarot sets at The Works, one with book and purple 'table cloth' and one with a DVD of instructions. The first one uses more traditional designs for the cards and the second one is perhaps more modern and ''cartoony'' if there is such a word. Neither set is anything like Bike stock, more like the low cost playing cards sold in pound shops etc, but both are described as being laminated. They both look as though over use would make the cards look scruffy but, having seen very busy street Tarot readers in Barcelona all using old and tatty cards, perhaps that might not be a bad thing if you want the idea of the cards being genuine and well used for psychic purposes.
