Anybody use PayPal?

Postby LeftEye » May 7th, '07, 11:37

I'm trying to sell something over PayPal and so far its going smoothly but i need someone who uses PayPal to sell things.

1) I have got a Buy Now button and if someone presses it and sends me their money, do I then receive an email telling me someone has brought the product?

2) Am I told the buyers email address?

3) Am I told which product the buyers just brought?

They may sound like stupid questions to someone who uses PayPal a lot but I really need to be certain on this.

Any help is massively appreciated. Thanks!

Yes, yes and yes (in that exact order  )

It really is very straightforward, and I shouldn't think you'll have any problems at all :D

I use Paypal and have done for quite some time. I have never had any problems with it but still look on it with great trepidation because of all the horror stories I have heard and read about.

However so far there have been no problems whatever and I think I must have had it for a few years although I can't remember how long exactly.

And the answers to your questions are as already stated Yes, yes and yes!

i have also used it for years without a problem but i always go to the site and check the money has gone in because i've heard about people sending fake emails, like i said its never happened to me but i never put anything in the post without checking the paypal site first.

I've used PayPal extensively for transactions for a while now, and out of over 3000 transactions, I've only had 4 problems...

All of which were resolved by PayPal's dispute team (although this can take a couple of months).

Paypal does tend to be pretty straighforward. Your pretty much informed every step of the way, given details like email addresses, delivery addresses ( if required ) and you can even print off nice little delievery slips and invoices.

You can also set up paypal to take process credit card details for you in case your buyer does not have paypal, allowing them to make a one off payment. I think this costs a small monthly fee though if I remember correctly.

Thanks for all the help guys. I have heard horror stories and even found websites devoted to banning PayPal :? but seeing as almost everyone on ebay and thousands of other people use it I should think it's quite safe.

Again, thank you!
