Hello again!

Postby mark_c1975 » May 7th, '07, 13:34

Hello to you all!

I've been having a bit of a sabbatical from magic over the past few months. Life has been busy, what with moving house and jobs, that my cards have had to stay in a drawer in my study.

However, now things have calmed down, I can get back to magic. I got myself a couple of new books, and I now have a lot more space for practise.

I managed to get all 5 books of Card College... a little treat for myself.

I have 2 questions:

1. Does anyone know of any good escapology material?
2. Why, in Ricky Jay's book 'Cards as Weapons' is the woman in the photos naked?

Anyway, it's good to be back.

Cheers,

Welcome back!
I've not read it, but David Du-Val's escapology stuff is meant to be good and there is a chapter on it in, I think, Tarbell course in Magic Vol.6 which has trunks, etc.
Houdini On Magic published by Dover has a lot about lock picking in it.

It's not really an optical illusion - it just looks like one!

Thanks Dat... did you ever make your own Queen out of Control by the way??

Lord Freddie: thanks for the info. I am looking to read more about the lockpicking / locks side of escapology, so I'll check that book out.
