A while back I was thinking about which gimmick cards to get, and ended up getting a variety pack, which was very useful for working with the Encyclopaedia of Card Tricks. However, some months later I find I hardly use them. I think I'll echo what Lady said - if you don't have specific tricks in mind that utilise them, don't get them. And you may get more value for money from a variety pack than from a whole deck of blank-backs. Again that's a decision that should be based on what tricks you want to perform.
