I've also purchused this effect and i also think it is genious. Derren Brown showed a version of this in his second series. He used a news paper and used the same method used in BTL to achive the same effect. It therefore answer the question of wiether it would play to a large audience, He performed that trick to millions on national tv and i doubt many people firued it out. I didn't till i realised the similarities between his effect and BTL. Bril reveiw also. I think its a real winner if played with.

Bought this effect on Monday, as I could see alot of potential to develop this for my own performance. I'm a fairly newcomer to mentalism, but with an hours application, I already had the basics of this stunning effect. Murray is right in saying that this needs to be performed often. Each time, you learn something new, something different to tweak, and it just gets better and better. This has opened up a whole new avenue in mentalism to me. Its a gem, and something which can fit into the traveling mentalists wallet. A must buy!

Thaumaturge, been on a bit of a spending spree, have we? As good as Diplopia and Between the Lines are, make sure you get yourself a book or two on mentalism. It's all too easy and tempting, especially in the early days, to go a bit mad on buying individual effects. Nothing wrong with getting the odd trick, but if you're even slightly serious about it then get yourself a good book. Much better value for money and you'll learn loads, too.

Don't worry about that....been couped up in my study for months learning the fundamentals, trawling through Anneman and Corinda...thanks to Craig. A long way to go yet (I dont think the learning will ever stop), but its got to a stage where I'm able to start applying what I'm learning in the real world. Had some amazing reactions. Its most satisfying seeing their little faces contort with mystification!
I dont think this is just an individual effect tho, more of an introduction, as I can see alot of scope for original ideas and further development and reading.
The plastics' have been locked away for another few months...or unless temptation gets too much again....this is dangerous!lol

I have one question about this effect. How is the page introduced? Do you pretend to tear it out of a book, or do you just hand it out? If you just hand it out, it simply becomes a question of memory. If you tear it out of a book, how close is the text to what you would find in a regular book. Everyone seems to be raving about this, but personally I don't see it from the descriptions.

It isn't a memory feat, it's a demonstration of your Participant's intuitive/psychic/whatever abilities; you're not describing what's on the page, they are, and what's more it's a page they've never seen before.

I would say between the lines can be pretty much used in any language. I've translated it into French for some friends and it was just as effective. And it really doesn't take much to make it look like an authentic page from a book. Ask Michael before reproducing it, but he's a really nice bloke and very happy to help.

I use the original in my Seance, the page resting in the arms of my little Swami guy (Swami Spirit Altar from Lebanon Circle) and under the theme of a Seance, I have one of the ladies in the circle focus on the page and channel the memories of the deceased.


As to the "new" bit Michael and I are developing... I can't say much, other than it is for a new Seance system; a complete, portable act to which said routine is just a part -- a love letter that plucks at the heart strings of your sitters in a very big way.

I'll be posting more on this project closer to the time of release, but that won't be before next spring, as things stand presently.

After recieving this, I translated it into Turkish. Now I need to print that out to start testing! This looks really nice; I loved Beyond ESP and I loved this one too.

I mentioned about using this in a seance ages ago on another forum we go on Craig and got laughed at. My idea was for it to be a page from a diary of the person contacted.
You'll have to let me know when it's out so I can have a look.
