Todays the Day!

Postby snicket » May 12th, '07, 17:00

Hey Everyone,
Today at 1:30-4:00 (us time) I have a birthday party, I am doing table magic. It would be great for some support or tips. So far on my list of tricks is: Sponge Balls, Disappearing Hanky (those two are for the kids), Burnout, Pop-eyed popper, Svengali, McDonalds Aces, Cheek to Cheek, Color Changing knives, and dime and Penny, all in a nice silver case. So what do you think of those? I also have a stripper deck, but I am not sure if I should bring it, and an ID? This is my first show, I am so scared!
:?

Just perform all those thing you know inside and out with an aire of confidence and you'll be fine. The only tip I can give is to start off with a self worker so you can get the ball rolling easily and other than that just be yourself.

Good luck

I agree with Greed. Although one thought, do the ID! I've performed it to a good number of people, and it's ALWAYS received good reactions. I haven't had too much experience with the stripper deck, but yeah, as Greed said, go with what you feel you can perform with the most confidence, and also go with the ID  .

Good luck!

i think you've left it a bit late to be asking for some advice.

as above. perform what you feel comfortable performing :)

but for the future, i would recommend making up a few routines, instead of just performing "tricks" it gives the performance a nice flow, and enables you to get comfortable.

I agree that you're asking too late for advice but I do suggest that you bring the stripper deck.

It's great that you did well at the party. Did you get any cash for your performance?
