Thank you so much. Maturing in magic seems like a great thing to do right now. I will learn more and practice hard, and come back to "wow" you.

It's a shame that on forums, sometimes, people have absolutely no idea of what I am capable of in magic at my age and do not give my magic creations a chance. I just did a lecture that went extremely well, sold a bunch of lecture notes, and got great response from the magic club for whom the lecture was presented. Nothing like teaching creations for 2 hours to build confidence in performance and help better my skills as a magician and speaker.

Good steps down the road, wouldn;t you say?

Just to clarify in this, it wasn't directed to this forum.

I'm not picking on Kras at all, I'm just stating facts. Anyone who doesn't seriously know the intricacies of the English language can royally screw up their writing and leave their audience with dissatisfaction. I think if you want to write a book and you're not a writer by profession, you should always consult with someone before writing or hire a ghost writer. The thing I hate the most is when a celebrity publishes a book without using a ghost writer or someone who knows how to write. I'm sorry if this seems like bullying and/or nitpicking but ever since I've taken some really intense, college-level English courses, I've developed a new respect for writers and my language. Sounds dumb, huh?

:x I'm appalled! You left out my cutesy-wootsey wink... I'd hate to have to start adding uber-nerdy </sarcasm> tags to my posts when the situation calls for clarification!

And last time I checked, taking a few college-level English courses doesn't train you to be a rhetorical critic. Start with Aristotle, move to neo-Aristotellian works by Wichelns, Black and Wander for ideological criticism, Burke, Fisher... You've got some reading (and understanding) to do before you go about criticizing a rhetorical work!

Wait... am I defending Mike?!

Ciao,
Rob

I'm not saying I'm a trained critic at all. I'm saying I've taken classes on writing well and good writing. I'm not saying that I can skillfully analyze a piece of literature, but I am saying I can now spot bad ones.

 That would be an interesting change.

Chapter 1: Exposure

What many young magicians do not understand about magic is that it is a highly respected art form by those who pursue it and are engrossed by it. It saddens me to see so many exposures by people young and old on the internet or live. What they do not realize is that, as kind as they may think it is, it is often hurting our profession. If everyone on the block starts doing Coin Matrix and Triumph routines, then what is left? Will the layperson soon become a vanished breed?

If these are you thoughts, why do you have links to effect explanations in your youtube profile?? :?

Long story. That happened by accident.

My laptop was running out of juice and being a Sankey fanatic, I found some videos and didn't have time to watch thm. My laptop wasd reaching critical battery so I quickly saved the videos yto my favourites without even looking at them. When I realized what they were I deleted them, but they still remain on my Playlist for some reason.

Hope that clears things up!

yes re-checked there only 11 min apart. Why not contact Youtube to find out how to get them removed. Then it wont look like you partake in this sort of thing
