One Hand Top Palm HELP!

Postby Michael Kras » May 13th, '07, 20:19

Hello Everyone!

Upon learning the One Hand Top Palm, I realize two things:

a) My thumb gets in the way and prevents the action from happening

b) My fingertips prevent the card from side-jogging

Any tips on how to overcome this? Thank you!

I'm not sure what your problem is, exactly, but Jay Sankey's dvd, "Revolutionary Card Magic" disk 2 has a very thorough description of the one hand top palm. I actually learned it there.

Sankey's version moves the thumb from the middle to the corner of the card's edge. You'll end up with your hand in a position similar to a card spring. I'm not sure what your finger problem is, though.

Currently Reading "House of Mystery" (Abbott, Teller), Tarbell, Everything I can on busking

I only know one way of doing a 1-hand top palm, I only use my pinky, I dont know how your thumb would get in the way if your doing it that way. If youre doing it another way, try using the pinky to shift the top-right corner, it pops right into your palm nicely.
