ok ok, time to draw a line under this. I think I've managed to put my foot right in it.
I'm not meaning to offend any one, I'm not saying that anyone's religion is wrong. What I was trying to say is that every religion has it's fair share of nutters who aren't prepared to accept any other beliefs. Just as every single religion has it's fair share of really lovely people who are willing to help anywhere they can.
I've not said anyones bad or anyone's better than anyone else. I was just trying to point out that the programme was dealing with the nutter end of Scientology and I'm sure that there are some really lovely people involved in it too.
really really sorry if I've not come across as I was wanting to and I'm really sorry if I've managed to offend anyone. It wasn't what I was trying to do.

I don't think anyone's going to believe that with your record of stirring. Shame on you.
What you call heroism is just an expression of this fact; there is never a scarcity of idiots

Are you being serious? Do I really come across as stirring?
I might do a bit of playful teasing but I never purposly want to offend or upset anyone.

I was with you all the way til the apology
I would continue but I feel what I would have to add on the subject would no doubt stir things up too. However it is true that the scientologists shown on last nights programme were bloody nuts

Whoah, whoah, whoah! What "American" churches are you talking about?
The ones which try to make people fall over and then give them money.
I watched the film Borat over the weekend for the first time. After I stopped wetting myself, I realised that the church he went into (the one where the literally pushed him over to get him to fall...I wonder is Derren brown would have gotten away with that on messiah...and exercise him of his demons) was a very scary place. It seemed like people were competing to be the most into God. And anyone who has witnessed people talking in tongues will know what I mean.

I would take what's in Borat with a grain of salt. It's supposed to be completely stupid and insane. Lady of Mystery, I completely agree with you on the fact that every religion has a bunch of screwballs. I know that even thoughh I'm a good Irish Catholic (

) there are plenty of people who would do crazy things for the Catholic church.

Of course it is, but the people in the church weren't actors. I will agree that they were stupid and insane though. Borat is fantastic satire ('I support your war of terror'...yee ha), though it can only be as insane as the people who 'star' in the show.
By the way...are those people who have been negative about scientology worried that they are watching you?
