I've not had much luck with the search function when it comes to 'any card at any number'.
I'm interested in reviews of pretty much any approach to this effect, but in particular the methods of Barrie Richardson.
I think his version in 'Theatre of the Mind' is just fantastic. Well, there are three versions in there, I'm talking of the one that only uses one deck.
Now, if I am not mistaken Richardson has another version of the trick in 'Act Two', and another version still that seems to be sold as a standalone effect by dealers.
What I'd like to know is how good these versions are, and especially whether they are worth looking at when I already love the 'Theatre of the Mind' version. I guess the strengths and weaknesses of 'ACAAN' effects boil down to: the degree of free choice of card and number, whether the magician or spectator deals the cards, how clean and suspicion-free the handling of the deck is.
Ooh, any thoughts on John Born's 'Meant to Be' would also be VERY interesting. This sounds like the holy grail of 'any card at any number' but I get the impression that it's extremely difficult. What do you think?
