can any one point me towards a magic shop in Surrey or South London (or close by). I really want to go and see some tricks before buying them, Thanks guys n gals

Well the nearest one I know of is actually in London. If you get to Charing Cross Underground then there is a famous magic shop called Davenports, actually in the underground tucked away in the corner ! Ask anybody who works on the underground there and I'm sure they'll point you to them.
The guys in the shop are only too happy to show you magical demonstrations before you buy. The shop also has a mini theatre that is opened up to their members, called the London Society of Magicians.
Prepare to spend an hour there because each customer does get given a lot of time with the seller.

Thanks Shaneking, that sounds exactly the kind of place I could spend all day in! Anyone fancy meeting up and going down there one week day (I expect Saturdays would be busy). Is that the same Davenports that actually produce or commision tricks and gimmicks as well?

Also International Magic is a place in London near Farringdon I believe, about 20 minutes from London Bridge.

Davenports do make their own magic I believe but don't hold me to it as I've never been there.
