Darwin Ortiz - CardShark Hardback Book

Postby The Magic Attic » May 21st, '07, 21:35

I have a 1st edition of this book and thinking of selling it. Before i make my mind on it, I'm trying to find if anyone is
a) interested
b) what sort of price - although i do have a few prices in mind.

should i keep it - being a collectors item.

I thought we weren't allowed to sell books or DVDs on this site, but if we can, I could buy it from you at a reasonable price. Say $15? Around seven and a half pounds?

plus $15 you must be joking.. last one of these books sold for £85

I would certainly be interested in it. Firstly, from a selfish personal point of view, I would say sell it ;)

however, from one magician to another, I think it will be worth a lot more in the future. Let me know if you want to sell it though! I'm first on the list!

Oh, sorry. I wasn't familiar with the book. So no sale for me.

No problems in generally discussing the value of an item but at £85 or more, it sounds like something more likely to appeal to a serious collector or active professional with oodles of spare cash!

I was under the impression Cardshark was being re-published soon.
In which case the value will drop dramatically, like Max Maven's Prism.

May be an idea to sell soon....

Personally, I'll be waiting for the reprint.

Was this rumour of reprinting ever substantiated?

From the horse's (Richard Kaufman's) mouth:

However, that was TWO YEARS (and six months) ago!!!!

Not heard anything else - he's probably just not got round to it yet.
And maybe he never will!

I asked Richard a couple of months ago and he said he no longer had the rights to publish it.

Aye, they've just reprinted Strong Magic too. Get it while it's hot.
