Wasn't looking for an apology - just a bit of respect for the other members, but well done for being man enough to do so.

Thanks.

Hi and welcome - you should be able to get roughing fluid from any magic shop or joke store. It's a pity if you can't order on line as the amount of places to try is huge but try Yellow Pages/Thompson's Directory and see if there's a shop in your locality where you can visit and buy your supplies.

The 'recipe' for the fluid isn't something that we can reveal here for obvious reasons - in fact, I have no idea what's in the stuff anyway!

I have a HYPNOSE deck of cards which I'm supposed to rough with a powder. Is the powder any better than roughing fluid?

Also, I've seen the ID performed a few times and I think I can do it with the HYPNOSE cards. Would I be right?

Whats different in terms of adherence quality between the fluid and the powder?

Would you guys say it is best to rerough an ID or to rough a brand new deck just out the box. What size of can is on average about 5 quid?

tom, is this stuff your talking about as good as something you would buy in a magic shop, if it is i can get it easily when i go to college tomorrow, otherwise i will take the time to go to davenports, what would you reccomend?

also what do people think about reroughing old invisible decks (quite unused though) or doing it on a completely new deck?

Well for the first question I don't know about the stuff Tom used but it is likely to be just as good if not better since the stuff you get from dealers is the same just repackaged and with the price bumped up usually.

As far as re-doing versus starting a new one it all depends on how worn the cards are. If they still look new you may as well just re-do them, but if they are starting to look worn or grimy then get out a brand new deck.

thanks nick. ill buy some of the humbrol stuff tomorrow at beatties and i think the pack i have got will be ok, the cards sit nicely flush on each other so i think they will work fine.

just been touching my...er...brainwave deck. And i thought to my self "hang on, i seen this texture sumwhere before...?". Then i remebered that its the same texture that appears on the hair dryer after my "sisters" been using hairspray. So i have a feeling that hairspray once dry will also do the job. Also you can buy HUGE cans of hairspray for about 99p from boots or "savers" or any other budget shop of this kind.
I'm gunna get some tomorow to check it out.

lol, nice bit of tangent thinking :)
That's one of those ideas that either goes horribly wrong or ends up being the best discovery since we saw the effect of wine on women :)

Hairspray is just a fine platic spray after all, keep us updated m8.
