I'm split on this one....

I figure any one who is dumb enough to bet a magician or on a card "TRICK" deserves to loose are their money.

But to use your skill to "cheat" some one out of money I believe is wrong.

Though I do think you do the honorable thing in only winning back the money you had lost in the game of pool.

Well I think you were out of order. You lost at pool because you were drunk, which was your own fault you were not really cheated. If he had cheated at pool or hustled you in some way then I say skin him alive, but you had a chance in the pool game he had no chance with your game.

I've had time to reflect on this and I'm sorry but I disagree  .

He had every chance - the chance not to bet. I capitalised on his greed. I only wanted to bet a fiver - but he was sure that I couldn't win and he was more than willing to take my cash from me. I just used his greed against him  .

My main point is that it's not as if I was playing a game of cards and I cheated using sleight of hand without him knowing. He knew that I was showing him a trick - I offered him a bet, which he didn't have to take  . He was greedy and I capitalised on it  .

QUESTION:
If we can sue McDonalds for making us fat and cigarette companies for giving us cancer; why can't we sue Smirnoff for all the ugly gits we've sh*gged ??

The point I was making was that when he bet the outcome was 100% in your favour, you offered a gamble when in fact there was no gamble.
When you played pool, he might have vad an edge, but you had a chance.
Anyhow for only a tenner he got away cheap, for a very important lesson ( don't gamble with magicians ) £10 is a fair price i suppose

It only cost him a fiver - he actually wanted to bet a tenner, I only wanted my fiver back that I'd lost at pool, so we agreed on a fiver.
I could have been greedy and bet him the tenner, but I just wanted my fiver back  .

It's perfectly fine. He wanted to gamble. End of story. He should have known he was being tricked. <-- thats part of cards, haha.

But never bet money during routine's and such. When you are a "magician" for the day, dont actually take the money. But when you're a guy with a deck of cards. Go ahead

gambling is fine if you start off small. but i have freinds who are not that bright. one in mind is my roomate who is like 6'7 and can bench press a ford pickup. i bet him i could rip a phone book in half faster then him. naturally he took the bait and so i won of course because i know the trick on how to do it.
he was convinced the book was already cut so we did it again. then he said my hands sliped that time so we did it again. then he wanted to do it again out of stuborness. finally i bet him i could rip a bloomington phone book (2 inches thick) faster then he could rip the campus one (not even 1 inch thick) faster then him for double or nothing. i still beat him. i got 160$ out of his stupidity. needless to say some people never learn ... and its ok to take their money. besides, mom and dad pay for everything for this kid so he didnt care about the cash. he was just pi**ed a 5'7 150lb guy is "stronger" then him lol.
