Tis a nice show. Pretty much what inspired me to go learn to walk on glass and stick nails up my nose (that was an interesting hour i can tell thee), if i ever start doing a bit more serious mentalism stuff i'll have to see if i can get away with incorporating things like that.
Oracle Deck and Oddball for the win!

and talking about the posts, apparently there might be a postal strike soon - they may shut up the letter boxes...how would we be able to get our magic fix then?

:S

All I can say is - thank heavens for having a well stocked magic shop on your doorstep

On a different note, I was stood outside a branch of Staples last week and noiced that the store was a DHL collection point. They had a great renge of boxes and envelopes on sale at what I thought were reasonable prices and which included the posstage fee.

I think that each time the post office go on strike it weakens their position and strengthens the oppositions.

There should be little reason why packages still cannot ship.

At 21.25 I saw at the bottom of my Freeview channel hopper thing 'Derren Brown-Something..', assuming it was his show from last year I immediately text the fair few I knew who would be interested, and they were, and they all stayed up late to watch it.

Two things tho- why put it on so late?? I mean seriously, I like sleeping.
Also, why put it on so late, on a Sunday when I have to get up early-Bah, and double bah!!!

Oh and another thing, what a serious lack of advertising.

Loved the show, so chuffed I was able to see it last year!

I agree, many people I have spoken to admire the years of training needed to perform such a feat (feat = feet, get it?)

I can't belive I missed this!! My friends have been talking about it today and just assumed I would know it was on!

So annoyed....hopefully it'll be repeated again or shown on teleport replay!!

Add to the fact the Derren Brown tickets in Bristol have sold out! I want to cry :(

I'm enjoying tricks of the mind book though tis very very good

Dunno why, but I enjoyed this repeat rather more than I did the original broadcast at Christmas, though I'm not a fan of geek tricks.

Personally i was amazed by just how long he managed to drag the oddball type effect out. It just goes to show how a fairly simple trick can be made to look spectacular purely with patter.

I was thinking along the same lines too. :) We'd better get to work on those wine and beer bottles as they'll all need to be emptied first!

The way Derren merges several effects and blurs the edges is what is earning him the big money. The fact that he's proving (along with his support team) even very simple things can be made so much more of with a little bit of imagination, personality etc says a lot IMO.
