What are people's opinions on those Karma systems that some fora implement?

And a rather good suggestion on the karma system as it would show the user whether the contributions are going down well or not. However as with most systems this could be abused by quite naughty people wishing to make clear their distain towards a member by minusing all their posts.

I quite like watching my post count creeping up. I do like the karma thing though, too.

thing is, as said already...it actually means nothing whatsoever...

im apparently "elite", which fills me with dread...its just another label to stick on yourself surely? im not one for labels really, except in my pants - so i can remember my name...

anyway i'd love to drop it...you either contribute to this place, or you just take take take...you don't need a number to tell you that, it's obvious by what you post...
