Struggling with an effect? Any tips (without giving too much away!) you'd like to share?

Praise the lord!

My exams have finally come to an end, after 2 weeks of the buggers.

So whats that mean? It mean's that I have 11 weeks holiday, and all I want to do in that time is pure and utter magic! Along with a good surf mind you... 8)

So I was just wondering what effects you think I should get...
I'd like to be doing some pretty hard core - yet highly rewarding ( in terms of reactions ) magic.

At the moment, I am thining of getting Daniel Madisons 'One' lecture notes, as he looks as if he has a different approach on card magic. What do you think?

Basically - I have 11 weeks to become known in my part of town! I don't want to miss this opportunity, as a holiday like this won't come around again!

Any help is much appreciated!

Thanks in advance,

Mr Ben

I reviewed Daniel's One notes (in fact I reviewed almost all of his stuff) some time ago so check it out. FWIW, since getting them I'm not performing a single effect from the notes, though that may just be that his style doesn't really gel with mine or something. His Lethal DVD is very good I think but that's just flourishes, no tricks.

Tough but rewarding, tough but rewarding...

Hmmm

Suggestion work seems to fit this very nicely. It's usually not difficult technically, but to have the confidence and presentation skills is tough. Being able to stop someone else's pulse, make someone forget a card/ make someone feel a word or idea jump out of their head/ get away with technically lame forces easily, etc. is quite rewarding.
That's if you meant tough but rewarding in an overall performance way.

For card material, TBR would be Lennart Green's stuff.

Good luck.

Currently Reading "House of Mystery" (Abbott, Teller), Tarbell, Everything I can on busking

Peter's Connected has been getting tremendous reviews everywhere so you will probably want to get that. When I bought Connected, I got his other notes (Magic in the Real World) for half price, so I got that too and they are in my opinion better than Daniel Madison's stuff.
