The Buddha and the Teddy Bear

Postby Harry Truman » Jun 17th, '07, 13:27

Hi there,

I recently found a very brief mention of this book in an acient topic from, as Craig so eloquently put it, the 'slimy green place.' It was mentioned by Ford Kross in a topic asking for opinions on the 'most indispensable mentalism book.'

Anyway, I managed to track a copy of the book down online, but can't seem to find any other mention of it. The tome was written by Rudy Hunter and was published, I believe, in 1992. I'm simply wondering if anyone else on this board has come across the book or has any more information regarding it. I've tried searching elsewhere, and have unfortunately managed to turn up nothing else.

I will most likely purchase this book, as I'm planning a relatively large order in the future, and will include The Buddha and the Teddy Bear with it. I'm just curious as to whether or not anyone else has seen mention of the tome.

Thank you for your time.

Harry.

The Buddha & The Teddy Bear

:) The title always intrigued me. I'd always thought it must be balloons! till Don & Betty enlightened me.
It was in the printed list of Magic Books By Post until Sept 2003. 45 pages at £21:25. Check their web page. or write to Don & Betty and ask if there's still a copy around.

Thank you, Allen.

The book is currently listed on their website, so I presume it is in stock. That's actually where I first saw it mentioned. I'll send off an email in a little while though, just to be on the safe side.

Do you have any information regarding the contents of the treatise? Not knowing the nature of the material within, I'm not entirely sure I would actually be able to make use of the manuscript.

Thanks again.

Harry.

:) Sorry Harry. :( it is so long ago I enquired about the book, the details have gone from my memory. You have 2 options.
Send another e mail to DFon & Betty and ask for details of the Contents page.
PM Craig Browning..You'll find him on most Indexes.. See miscellaneous.
Craig is bound to have come across the book.

It's really not a problem Allen. I sent an email to Don and Betty inquiring about the stock, but didn't think to ask about the contents. I may send Craig an email as well, as, like you say, he is more than likely to have seen the manuscript.

I must say, it was the title that originally caught my eye as well. After attempting to research the book and coming up with almost nothing, other than Ford's recommendation, I simply became more interested.

Anyway, thank you for the suggestions. I'll fire off another couple of emails in a moment.

Harry.
