When I was in Davenports a little while back this guy came in (French I think) who had won 2 decks in competition having opened one he was saving the other,

Talking away people in there were pretty awestruck, I think to even enter the comp you had to pay a lot of money (either to buy goods or just the entry) and the top prize was one of these decks.

They don't do it for me personally but......they obviously are rare right now

Too much money + little common sense = mint deck of black ghosts for $150

I like cards as much as the next cardie but I wonder what audience would be impressed by black ghosts other than similar special deck enthusiasts?

It certainly wont impress a layman past the ' Ooo they look weird, is it a trick deck?' comment

As awesome as I think the cards look, I have to agree that there is no way in hell I'd pay that much for a deck of cards, your paying way to much money for a tool, where as the money could be well spent on the method.
I'd imagine that it would be more likely a card collector/fanatic who has bidded, as opposed to a magician/XCMer.

there is not one spectator on the face of the planet who will say "OH wow.... those cards are awesome.... MUCH better than that normal ghost deck the other guy used!"

$152!?! Thats nothing! I sold mine a couple of weeks ago for £188! Thats like $370!

They are nice cards, but i dont think i'd ever pay that much for them!

I was born with Multiple Personality Disorder. Luckily, they are all me, they just dont always get along...

...and yet, many will pay that same price for Jerry's Nuggets. Only, in that situation, the person is a "serious cardician".

The cards are sealed and in MINT condition. These cards are GREAT, they handle wonderfully,

Gee, it's amazing he knows how well they handle even though they are in mint condition.

It's all hype and as the saying goes - a fool and his money are easily parted

I note on the E web site that they are giving os many of these decks away at the moment (I think that it's 100 of them) on a first come first served basis for pre-orders for a new product that they are launching.

They probably have a few thousand of these sat in a warehouse somewhere as there was bound to be a minimum print run from the USPCC. Prepare for E to milk them for all they can get over the next few years.

Bleh, you guys obviously haven't seen the prices for Jerry's Nuggets then :P. Reaches up to about $200.

But Chris is right, buy them now, sell them at great prices later ;)

Well, some people are excited about them. Very excited. Very excited indeed. Excited enough to accidentally stab themselves in the stomach while opening the package, in fact:
