Myself performing an Aces Production Routine

Postby MagicalJim » Jun 27th, '07, 10:32

I'd like to thank Lady of Mystery before hand for giving me the basis of the routine.
Here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hn8xEfaS7Ps
Please could you give feedback, as this was the main reason for posting this, so I could get areas of improvement from other people's points of view.

Not bad.

The Erdnase color change should never show the card moving up, then back, though. It should appear that you simply wave your hand over the card and it changes. If they can see the card move up and back, and then see the deck fully beveled after the change, then it looks like you did exactly what you did.

If, when you first put your hand over the card, you use your pinky finger to pull the card up (lower, forward corner) as you turn your hand over it, like a book, you'll find that the upward motion of the card is completely hidden. The hand then moves back to show the card but conceals, fully, the bevel, then forward and in a sweeping (left-right, rather than up and down) motion simply causes the card to change.

But, never let anyone see any motion, whatsoever, from that card that you are changing.

Your cuts are very nicely perfected, though, and look good.

Mike.

Thanks, not 100% clear on the method you describe but I'll give it a reread and have a blast at it.

EDIT: After having a go, I see what you mean, thanks for the tips.

You need to practice DL, becuase you seem to fidget about slightly when trying to catch your first break.

The majority of the effect was well executed, just practice a little more on your smoothness and try and not sway about so much.

Thanks. Usually I catch the DL on the off beat, but as there was no audience as such to misdirect I did what I could. That's something I'll have to practice.
