A fantastic story (from Kings' short stories... I forget the name of the book, Something Eventual I think)... if the movie is anything like the short story, I will be going to see this.

Good shout, Craig.

I can't wait to see this. Stephen King is my favourite autor, he has a unique way of scaring people. Sometimes, the story isn't scary initially, but when you think about it afterwards, it was so bizarre it's bone-chilling. He has made me feel sick in the past... I love it!

I must say that movie does look absolutely cracking. Definitely going on my "to see" list

That'd be from 'Everything's Eventual' - absolutely crackin' story (as are most of King's ditties); 1408 has already been turned into a horribly evocative audio play, which is really quite disturbing - even moreso than the written version.

Hopefully, the screenplay'll turn out better than Dreamweaver or Secret Window, though

Amen!

(And thanks for putting me right on the title. Now, in return, let me tell you it's DREAMCATCHER, not DREAMWEAVER. You're spending too long in front of the computer ;))

Well, I read 'Everything's Eventual' during our 24 hour delay to leave the UK last year for my honeymoon (you know how it is... bloomin hurricanes!).

A fantastic King book.

As you say, so far as translation goes... Dreamcatcher and Secret Window, as well as the 'recent' version of Salem's Lot, have all been MAJOR turkeys for me.

I do hope this one lives up to the 'look behind you' feel I got when reading the book.

Somehow, since I first started reading King (about 20 years back), I've often thought his work is better on-page than in the movies. That was until I saw Shawshank Redemption and Green Mile.

It's been some time since I last read some Stephen King but that trailer has certainly whetted my appetite again. Will look out for its UK release but as said few of the books have translated well to film. Hopefully this is one of the exceptions. :D

I'm a huge King fan too, I've read the whole Dark Tower series TWICE! Sad but true.

I'll look forward to this, thanks for the heads up!

Funnily enough, I've just finished 'Blaze', which is the last unpublished Bachman book.

Although a damn good story, I can't help feeling that, either I'm missing something, or the ending's a little weak.

It also has a very nice seperate short story in the back of the book, which - in many ways - is actually better than Blaze itself

Dark Tower... what a disappointment to reach the end tho :(

It would take REAL dedication to read it TWICE ;)

Imagine how Roland must have felt!

The second time through I only intended to read the revised edition of 'The Gunslinger' to see what had changed... and then I kind of got carried away...

I'm a big King fan - I have almost his entire library, all in hard bound (well, the ones that come in hard bound).

What I've found with King is that oftentimes his endings are weak. However, I have always enjoyed getting there, so I don't mind so much.

Mike.

I'm really not a big fan of horror movies or scary books, but when King books are turned into movies they are VERY good. The Shining, Green Mile, Children of the Corn, Cujo....
