New Hustler/mentalist magician| Need help!|

Postby Nanoviper » Jul 14th, '07, 06:34

hey every one im a 16 y o magician from the united states. my favorite magicians are Paul wilson, and cyril. every since i was very very young (6 actually) i have been captivated and enthralled by magic.
at the age of 10 i started practicing basic basic tricks, but I got out of routine largely due to the fact that i was in a magnet school in which the work load was unbeliveable. any way i love to preform(sing/stand up comedy) and i think magic is the next step for me and my love for entertaining people. So I was wondering what are some good books for beginners,
I need something for general magic then some for mentalism/card or gambling magic.
P.S. I have a copy of the tarbell course is this a good place to start?

If you have the entire Tarbell Course, you won't need anything new for the next ten years! But we both know you're going to buy more things sooner than that... :D

The Course is excellent. Adapt the presentation for the new age and you'll have a huge arsenal of effects and philosophies. If you're interested in Mentalism, the 13 Steps to Mentalism, by Corinda is a good start. Craig Browning has an article on how to progress through mentalism. It's in the Support & Tips forum, near the top. Eh, whatthehell, I'll give you a link as well

Also if you are interested in magic besides mentalism try Mark Wilson's book. I just got it like four days ago and I can't put it down.

Why did you spend so much money on this course if you don't know what it is? You did buy it, didn't you?
