Hi to all the members of this forum, I'm really interested in magic and mentalism after watching Derren Brown's TV shows, and after reading his book 'Tricks of the Mind' which was really something.. I've just ordered 'Mark Wilson's Complete Course in Magic' and 'The Royal Road to Card Magic' which were recommended to beginners like me in Derren's book, along with many others. It seems there are many well-informed magicians browsing these forums so i was just after a few words of advice for starting out, what to do, what not to do, you know. anything would be greatly appreciated!

What not to do = Be annoying

What to do = start reading some good magic books and maybe join a small magic club near you.

Welcome. When you get your books just work at a good slow pace, try not to rush the routines. Don't move on until you have mastered each section.
