Sounds sweet, although I am getting anxious as my form is still sitting on my computer desk.

Can you give me a latest possible date I can send it off Simon?

Hopefully it will get done.

Dealers will be there until 6pm, so you will have all day.

Most will be demonstrating there wares all day which is always fun to watch. Check out Matthew Dowden's shrinking card effect if you can. he will be on Peter Nardi's stall (Alakazam).

To everyone that has booked tickets (or will be booking tickets)

If you have booked a place in one of the car parks I need to know if your vehicle is over 2m. Unless you let me know I will assume not.

One of the car parks has a height restriction. Mostly we will be using that one for dealers only but I will have some extra tokens so if you do have a tall car - please get in touch.

I will be changing the registration form to say as much.

Thanks.

Of course there is room. I booked that lecture specificaly for you. I would have been disappointed if you couldn't make it.

I have had a few people asking for more information about who "The Incredible Crisco" is, and it does appear that he has absolutely no internet presence.

Well I have finally managed to get some publicity information, although I should point out that if you had ever seen him perform, you would remember him.

The Ipswich Magical Society website has now been updated.

Image

Chris Cox, or The Incredible Crisco as he is better known is one of the unsung heroes of Comedy Magic.

He has been a full-time professional comedy entertainer for fifty years, with all the vast experience that that implies. His unique character of the zany old eccentric is timeless and his speed of delivery combined with his talent for genuine ad-libbing, makes this constantly updated act ready for this millennium and beyond!

An experienced comedy entertainer, with his comical Herbert the Duck, artistic balloon sculpting, juggling, zany close-up work etc.

His various stage personas - including Major Worsley, all include a large number of fast visual often original gags and tricks which have no language barriers. Which explains him having worked on every continent. Thirty eight countries in all - he can truly be described as an international act.

With over eighty thousand shows, to every conceivable type of audience at every possible type of venue including television, film, theatre, cruising, cabaret, open air, promotions etc., you name it 'CRISCO' has almost certainly done it.

His fertile mind is constantly thinking of fresh comedy and off-beat situations and ideas which have resulted in numerous newspaper, magazine articles and television shows.

So here's a funny story. I was talking to the local press, as they are going to do an article about the evening show, and I was going through the acts and I mentioned "...and we even have a dove magician this year"

The reporter - a nice young lady - suddenly perked right up. "Oh that sounds interesting, maybe I could take a photograph. What sort of magic does the dove do?"

It is nice when you can be rendered speechless at least once a day. Bless her.

A Flying Dove

Postby Amanda Angeli » Oct 5th, '07, 23:49

Hello Bananafish,

Well, I suppose the dove could fly, that would be a neat trick, at least for us human types. I so loved David Copperfield when he flew. So, if it was good enough for him, it should be a good enough trick for a dove.

Love,

Amanda Angeli

Just a quick update. Jerry O'Connell will be there on the day as a guest (not a performer/dealer), but if you are interested in any of his products - give him a ring and he will bring stuff along.

Apologies if anyone is still waiting for their tickets to be sent. They are in the post. (The Postal strike wasn't at a particularly convenient time...)

This sounds like another seriously good event! Crisco is brilliant, he has one of those unique styles of performace, self mocking but very skillful and is perhaps one of the few magicians left from the days of Tommy Cooper and similar talented cabaret/club performers.

Crisco reminds me of Victor Borge. Remember him? I guess many of the younger members here won't, but I would say Crisco is the Victor Borge of Magic.

Graham Jolley is the one who will be the hit though, although it has to be said that I am really lookig forward to Juliana Chen's lecture.
